Our Core Values

Built Around What Matters Most

Friendship

We foster genuine relationships. Members engage with peers regularly so connections grow naturally over shared activities and experiences.

Fun

Joyful experiences are at the heart of what we do — from field trips to creative classes and recreational outings that make each week something to look forward to.

Belonging

Everyone deserves to feel seen and welcomed. Our inclusive programs ensure people of all abilities are valued and supported within a community where they belong.

Respite

While members are thriving in meaningful community engagement, caregivers get trusted, compassionate respite — time to rest, recharge, and care for themselves with peace of mind.

Why It Matters

After high school, many adults with IDD lose access to structured social and community opportunities that support connection and growth. Without those opportunities, families often shoulder the emotional and logistical burden alone. Bridge of Promise fills that gap — building belonging and purpose into everyday life for adults with IDD while strengthening the whole family.

What Families Say

What Our Programs Look Like

Community That Lasts

Members participate regularly with the same group of peers so friendships deepen over time, not just in a single activity.

Meaningful Activities

From interest-based classes to field trips and group events, every calendar is crafted with purpose, variety, and joy.

Inclusive Enrollment

We embrace a wide range of needs. Our trained staff provides personal support, including toileting and feeding, at no extra cost so all can participate.

Respite With Peace of Mind

We support families by giving caregivers time to rest and tend to their own needs — because care extends to the whole family.

Support Our Mission

Your gift fuels friendship, fun, belonging, and respite.

Our Founder

Bridge of Promise was founded by Sally Coomer, the mother of a daughter with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Like many families, Sally saw firsthand how limited meaningful opportunities can be for adults with IDD after high school. Her vision for Bridge of Promise grew from a desire to create a welcoming community where adults with IDD can build friendships, enjoy purposeful days, and feel a true sense of belonging — while families receive support and respite they can trust.
